How does WebCast work?

The Bidder’s display provides the interface between the live auction and the remote bidder. The format of the bidder display and the available functions are common for each of the sales supported by a Cowan Alexander, LLC WebCast. If you are having problems connecting to a WebCast, please view our FAQ section.  Figure 1 is an example of the Bidder Display. The display area is divided into seven areas:

  1. Audio/Video (A/V) Window in the upper left of the screen
  2. Lot Data in the middle on left of the screen
  3. Lot Preview Area on the lower left of the screen
  4. Bidder and status information
  5. Bid functions in the upper right of the screen
  6. Auctioneer’s Messages
  7. Special functions in the lower right of the screen

The following sections identify the content and controls available to the bidder for each of these areas.
